17 Day full time Close Protection Officer (CPO) training program

Tensho's 17 day close protection training program encompasses the required unit standards to achieve CPO (Close Protection Officer) status. On completion of the course the student shall be able to provide the skills necessary to provide protection to VIP's, diplomatic delegates, high profile commercial clients and celebrities.
Tensho's course content is presented by former CPO's who have decades of sub-Saharan and Middle Eastern conflict zone CPO experience. The course is designed to develop competent and professional operators who are able to work in low and high risk close protection operations.
Some of the course content which will be covered during the 17 day course is outlined below:
- Provide close protection to designated persons whilst in transit
- Provide pedestrian escort to designated persons within a close protection environment
- Provide protection to designated persons whilst embussing or debussing
- Provide static protection to designated persons
- First Aid Level three first responder with Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (C-TECC)
- Firearms training (Pistol, Shotgun, Rifle) up to tactical level
- Unarmed combat techniques
- Defensive and offensive driving
At the end of the course the students shall conduct a planned close protection task in order to be evaluated as a CPO.
Unlike many other close protection courses in South Africa Tensho’s CPO course is fully inclusive:
- Course equipment & weapons are provided
- Ammunition
- Lunch and beverages each day
- Transfers from OR Tambo airport to training facility
